A Mother's Dream...A Daughter's Passion
My mother, Jane Ferrell, started Sands of Time Jewelry several years ago, making jewelry and home decor from sea glass that she collected on the Texas Gulf Coast. Both her inspiration and her product line grew after witnessing a hand blown art glass demonstration in the Texas Hill Country. Over the years, she became known for the unique pieces she created. Sands of Time Jewelry was not just her company...it was her dream.
Sadly, Mom lost her heroic, yet short battle with cancer in December of 2016. I was honored when she asked me to take over the business, though I didn't know a thing about glass or jewelry at the time.
Almost immediately, I was fascinated with glass and the unique, elegant pieces made from it. I was determined to learn, so I got online and started doing just that. I am self taught, and learning more every day. I am truly blessed to make a living doing something I love, and hopefully making Mom proud along the way.
My 15 year old son, Jacob, is now helping with website design and monitoring, making us a 3rd generation, family owned business.
